Am seeking information on John HOFFMAN, born March 1801, possibly in Preble County. He was married to Rachel (her maiden name unknown), but she was said to be from West Alexandria, Ohio. She was born March 1809. They had a son, Abraham HOFFMAN, born Aug. 10, 1830, possibly in Preble County. Family believed to have moved to Elkhart County, IN, in 1832. John HOFFMAN died March 21, 1869 in Elkhart County, IN. Rachel died Sept. 6, 1880 in Elkhart County, IN. Abraham HOFFMAN died March 2, 1879 in Elkhart County, IN. (no Death, birth marriage certificates in Elkhart county before 1882.)

My GGrandfather was David F COYLE, born in 1868 in Eaton or Gratis, Preble County, Ohio. He married a Mary M. HECKMAN. I don't have anything on COYLEs or HECKMANs before that or even any siblings.

I am looking for information about Christina or Christiana BANTA b. 10/30/1804 in Twin, Twin Township, Preble Co., Ohio who married David VANWINKLE b. 7/11/1800 somewhere in Kentucky. They were married 11/9/1823 in Twin. Both also died in Twin. She on 1/18/1863 and he on 12/30/1878. I would like to know who her parents were, the cemetary they are buried in, and a copy of their obituaries if such exist.

John and Lois CLAWSON settled in Preble County ca 1800. Their children were: John(1797), Asa D.(1799), Elizabeth(1801), Samuel(1802), Lydia(1806), Sarah or Sally(1807), Josiah(1809), Garret C.(1811), and Isaac D.(1813). Thomas and Martha BEASLEY (BEEZLEY) had a son Joseph, born June 25, 1809 in Preble County. Joseph, when he grew up, moved to Indiana, and married Cynthia LEWIS in Boone County of that state. The couple eventually settled in Madison County, Iowa. Does anyone have information about this BEASLEY family - their ancestors and where they came from?

For my wife whose relative was Daniel WALKER who married there in 1837 to Elizabeth AULT and had children Lorena 1839, Hiram 1840, Louise 1843, Levi 1848. Aaron 1850. I am sure in Washington Twshp. Are any records available? At what cost? They moved west to IN, then MN. eventually children spread on west.

I am looking for information on GRAYs or JOHNSTONs from Preble Co. Of greatest interest is: Mary Josephine GRAY (b. 15 Jul 1864 in Morning Sun). She married Joseph K. HERRON in 1896 in a double wedding in Coin, IA, with Rev. William R. GRAY (her brother??) marrying Julia MONZINGO. I have other GRAY names but do now know their relationships: David Alexander GRAY (probably Mary's father); William R. GRAY (probably her brother); Esther Jane GRAY (probably a sister). I also have several JOHNSTONs who are related to GRAYs somehow. Any information on these GRAYs or JOHNSTONs would be greatly appreciated.
