My gggrandfather was Levi MANN b. ca. 1798 in PA. He died 17 Apr 1866 in Paris, Edgar Co., IL. On 24 May 1818, he married Jane BELL, the daughter of Benjamin BELL (a Rev. War Patriot). They were the parents of J. Howard, Samuel J., (my ggrandfather), Hannah, Elizabeth, Levi C., Mary, Celia, Isabelle, "female", and Sarah Jane. Prior to 1826, Levi and his family lived in Marietta, OH. My ggrandfather, Samuel MANN, was born 13 Feb 1820, Preble Co., OH (according to census records). He died. 12 Oct 1870, in Newton, IL. He married Martha WESTBROOK 20 Apr 1848. They lived in Paris, Edgar Co., IL for many years, before moving to Newton, Jasper County. Samuel and Martha were the parents of William, Andrew Press, Ben Milligan (married Sarah MCQUISILIAN/married 2nd Armilda Jane WILSON), Mary E. (married Henry DRURY), Emma Joanna (married John HOWELL), Charles Westbrook, Edward Samuel, and my grandmother, Nellie Gertrude, who married Homer L. WRIGHT. I have information on some of these families forward which I will gladly share. Can anyone help me find Levi's parents/siblings? There was a Jacob MANN in Edgar Co. and in OH near Levi in the same time period - could they be related? Thanks for any help you can give me. God bless.

CREGAR/CRIGER/CREAGER in Israel Twnshp, Preble Co., OH. Seeking death information on John CREGAR (surname as spelled in the 1850 Preble Co. census) who possibly died between 1857-1860. Wife Mary Ann VANDIKE CREGAR and family of 10 children moved to Daviess Co., IN, without John, to evidently be near daughter Amanda CREGAR YEAGER and her family, about this time. I believe John and Mary were married in Springfield Twnshp, Hamilton Co., OH in 1835; both CREGAR and VANDIKE families were from Hamilton Co.

I'm looking on information on the family of Elizabeth GRAY and Basil SHOEMAKER who were married in Preble Co. in 1839. Elizabeth's father, Thomas GRAY was born in PA, then moved to TN, then to OH. Elizabeth's family was large. She had a brother named Taswell GRAY. Basil SHOEMAKER was born in Preble Co., ca. 1815. Any information on their parents or their siblings would be greatly appreciated. I am lookong for any information on George HARLESS born 1780 in Virginia, died 1810 in Preble Co., OH. His widow Margaret d/o Thomas & Susannah (ATKINS) MCGRIFF remarried in 1812 to John ATKINS. I only know of one child of George and Margaret, she was Susannah HARLESS born 1802 in Anderson Co., TN, and dien in Ozark, MO. In 1817 she married Joseph JAMES in Preble Co., OH. Did George have any more children? Did he leave any records in Preble Co.? Does anyone know what happened to his widow and child?
