BICKEL, BICKLE, GREEN posted by Pat Conrad on Sunday, January 3, 1999

Am looking for information on both William GREEN b. 1821 who married Catherine BICKEL born Preble County, Ohio 1819. Catherine BICKEL moved to Jay County, IN. Are the William GREEN's of Preble County parents of William GREEN? Did another GREEN family in Preble County have a son William. Catherine and William were married in 1841 in Jay County. There was an influx of settlers from Preble to Jay County, IN. Everytime I find a relative they come from Preble County and they have moved to Jay County. Another note Catherine's parents were Thomas and Barbara BICKLE who had thirteen children, most of them born in Preble County.

DEWEESE, WATTS posted by Kay E. DeWeese on Wednesday, January 27, 1999

Israel WATTS and Mary DEWEESE were married in Butler Co. in 1909. They sold property there in 1813. We found a document that said they went to Preble County. They were probably born around 1785-1788. Other names that have been associated with them are Richard WATTS and Elce, his wife. Her brother, Rev. Samuel DEWEESE, was known for organizing Baptist churches. It is possible that he may have also gone to Preble Co. between 1810 and 1814. Would be grateful for any information regarding these families. Thank you. Kay
